Court Judge and ten years of experience as a judge in Wichita
Municipal Court, he has proven to be a tough, no-nonsense
judge who holds convicted criminals responsible for their
actions. Repeat offenders and offenders who refuse treatment
are incarcerated. Bruce believes crime victimizes our entire
society and must be dealt with firmly.

Bruce believes judges must be fair and impartial to everyone—defendants,
victims, and the community, and he lives this out on the

Bruce is a husband, father, soldier, mentor, church leader,
and friend.
Faith
Bruce’s faith in God is central in his life. Bruce has been
an active in church all his life and has been a member of
River Community Church for over 15 years. He has served as a
church small group leader for the past twelve years.
Community
Community involvement counts with Bruce Brown and his family.
Bruce was a mentor for at-risk children through Youth Horizons
for over eight years. Bruce previously served for eight years
on the Board of Youth Horizons. During that time, Bruce worked
with this organization to serve at-risk kids in the Sedgwick
County Community through its mentoring program and also
through a residential home, the Kinloch Price Boys Ranch.
Bruce helped start the Wichita Drug Court Program, one of the
first 100 Drug Courts in the nation.
Military Service
Bruce served on active duty with the U.S. Army from 1990-1994,
and was deployed to Kuwait in 1993.
Bruce currently serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S.
Army Reserves.
Lifelong Republican
Bruce is a lifelong Republican who is proud to have cast his
first vote for Ronald Reagan for President in 1980. In college
Bruce was active in student politics, College Republicans and
Young Americans for Freedom. Bruce served as the State
Chairman of Oklahoma College Republicans and served on the
Oklahoma State Republican Executive Committee from 1982-83.
Bruce’s first job out of law school was as a legal advisor
to Jim Inhofe (now U.S. Senator) in his first successful bid
for Congress.
